Barbeque Sauce

Ingredients

  • canola oil
  • 1 large onion, minced
  • 1 8 ounce can tomato sauce
  • 1 28 ounce can tomatoes, with juice
  • 3/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons molasses
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon chile powder
  • 2 teaspoons liquid smoke
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons black pepper
  • 1/3 cup orange juice

Method

  • Cook onion in canola oil until golden. Add remaining ingredients. Boil and reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, until thickened for 2-2 1/2 hours.
